You can't wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club- Jack London

Does anyone have any advice on choosing a printer for your books? Is there anyone you recommend? Anyone you don't? Is there anything you would have done differently?

Depends on how big of a print run you want to do....any ideas of how many you wanted to get printed?

We're looking at a first run of inbetween 500-1000 books, about 100 pages each.

Anything over 96 pages requires a flat spine, or so I hear. (As opposed to saddle stitch.)
Kablam.com will do upto 52 pages with a color cover B&W interior for $2.21 USD each.
BUT I have never used them, I hear good things though.

Did anyone ever come up with anything? OR did this thread dry up like a turd in the wind?

I've gotten a few tips, but I haven't met with the local people yet, so I don't know. It seems to me that shipping costs can be a real factor that no one seems to want to talk about. I mean, I'm not trying to be cheap, but I do want to know where I'm spending my money.
